It is my very great pleasure to announce that we have Hna Mandy's travel plans.

She will be flying in to SLC on January 26th at 10:30 am!

She'll be speaking in church that very next Sunday!

Hey family and friends! 

So this week I'm going to write about a of the miracles and then I'll write about what's going to happen in my last transfer. So this week we learned about looking for ways to preach the gospel in every moment, we ate lunch with a family of members but they had a friend from work over working in their house and he ate lunch with us and we got to talking about the gospel and turns out he has a lot of interest in learning more about the church and we shared a short message about the plan of salvation with him and the best part is that when we asked for his address turns out he lives in our sector! It was way cool to find him! Then this week we were able to help a menos activa recieve a blessing of strength and she was so grateful because she says that now she's going to be able to do all that she needs to do to be able to come back to the church. She's such a special hna. for me and she's trying so hard to keep going, if any of you go to the temple can you put her name on the temple roll for me, her name is Karina SanJuan. Then we went to visit a return missionary Luis who normally is always talking about his mission and trying to one up us saying he was the best missionary ever but this week we were abe to really talk to him and he opened up and we realized that he's really been struggling since he came back from his mission and he needs a lot of help. They say that some of the biggest challenges come right before or right after the mission because the adversary knows how powerful a missionary  or return missionary can be, for this guy his biggest challenges came after the mission. It's interesting to teach this guy because I realy do feel like he's a brother to me. He's just like a brother too, always bugging us, trying to get on our nerves, cracking jokes when one is trying to be serious, so it was really cool to help him out and make him realize that he needs the gospel really strong in his life. This week too we had an christmas activity for the mission and once again for reasons that escape me they asked me to sing againj!! Just like last year. Why do they keep asking me to sing in front of like a hundred people when there are so many hnas. that like to sing and are good at it but I am not one of them!! It's another kind of trial in the mission :P. The activity was fun and spiritual and then we went and played sports in a big synthetic field. The funnest sport was soccer because they changed the rules and said that only the hermanas could run and make goals, the elders had to walk! It was so funny watching the competitive elders trying to play soccer, only walking. But the good thing is that they were forced to pass me the ball and I finally got to play! We also saw miracles with the family Ibarra, a mom and her ttwo daughters who are coming back to church after being inactive for ten years! NOw the daughter is going to EFY and working on her personal progress, which is funny considering that we met her when she was wearing VERY immodest clothes, smoking etc. THey are so amazing we're so happy to be seeing progress with them.

I did not think that it would happen but I have to think that it is the will of Heavenly Father, but I'm being sent to another sector for my last change in the mission and right before christmas. I'm going to Cachapoal a sector that is right smack dab in the middle of rancagua and I'll be doing a white wash o sea, my companion and I will both be new to the sector. I'm a bit nervous but at the same time really excited to have this opportunity to work really hard and find and teach a bunch of amazing people. I'm sad to be leaving my compañera but I know I'll get along great with my next companion Hna. Alvarez who's from Ecuador!

Hola familia! 

Ok let me start by saying that today I found and bought a pillow that has hugh jackman on it, I am very happy :P 

So this week has been kind of boring. Nothing really of note happened, the grass grew, my companion painted her nails, I got hit by a bus, we contacted a lot, not much right? :P So it is true I was hit by a bus BUT DO NOT FREAK OUT BECAUSE I AM FINE!!! I was in another sector in divisions and they have bikes and we were riding on the side of the street which is what you're supposed to do here when there isn't a bike path and as I'm riding I here this bus behind me and I thought to myself: "I sure hope this bus moves over so that it doesn't hit me. Seriously though please don't hit me I'm a missionary of Jesuschrist!"  Then the bus hit me. The good thing is that it wasn't going that fast so the actual hit didn't hurt but he booted me over the curb and into the dirt. The first thing I thought was "Ah! My garments are showing so I jumped up, with the help of a kind lady who asked me what I was doing in the dirt and I wanted to point at the bus and say it was his fault and I hadn't chosen to play in the dirt but I could only say I'm OK about a million times. The guy driving the bus felt bad but cleared out pretty fast when he saw I was ok. The worst I got was a bunch of bruises and a gashed up knee but since when has a bloody knee been a new thing for me :P We went to the house and cleaned up but unfortunately I had a bunch of rocks that were pretty good in there so we had to make a trip to the hospital so they could clean them out. The mission nurses husband thought he was pretty funny by saying that I had asked for a smoothie but got rocky road instead :P I'm seriously counting my blessings though, for having been in an accident like that i know that it could have been a lot worse so I'll take a busted knee any day. As long as I can still walk talk and share the gospel I'm good! 

The other adventure is that we went to an old house in the country and there was this black demon dog who almost bit us but we managed to give a folleto to the owner before running for our lives!

So on to the more positive news, we had a Noche de Hogar this week and I tried to make chocolate chip cookies with a recipe that they had looked up on the internet, the recipe said we had to leave the dough in the fridge over night but I thought we would be fine without that little detail and what we ended up eating were cookie tortillas but they were still good!!

I love seeing people honestly looking for the truth! We have an investigator that has a lot of doubts about getting baptized and leaving behind her catholic decisions but when we read the story of Jesus's baptism in the bible she was really surprised and at the end of the lesson she asked the lord for help to find the truth! We hope to see her progress!

We have also been teaching a return missionary who's had a really hard time with his family since he got home from his mission and that made him depressed because he thought he would see a lot of blessings for having served the lord for two years. It made me realize that we will always have trials but what the mission gives us is the ability to superarlas. I'm so grateful to be here in the missionary, everytime I open up the scriptures I'm amazed at how much information and help is in them and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to learn and apply them!

Also we were talking that when the Lord says he will protect the righteous in the last days it doesn't necessarily mean that he will surround us with a protective bubble. It means he is going to teach us what we need to do to be prepared like store water and food, have 72 hour kits etc. and the righteous ones will do those things and be protected when things aren't so great. Food for thought :)

HOla familia y amigos!

So here in Chile they do not celebrate Thanksgiving of course but I still got to eat a thanksgiving dinner because friday we had a meeting in the casa de la mission and Hna. Warne made us the typical thanksgiving dinner but for lunch! I forgot how much I like stuffing until I tried it after a long time of not having it :P So we missionaries really like to keep busy because we spend all week walking and then what to we do on our day off? WE walk! Or exercize! Last week we climbed a hill, it was short but straight up so a bit difficult even though we're used to walking. We were using different muscles than usual! We saw it as a metaphor for our mission work though because my compi and I would look up the hill, find a tree or a rock and say yeah we're not going to stop until we get to that point. So we climbed with all we had to get to that point, rested for a minute and kept going like that till we got to the top!! It was super funny though because the other hnas with us were thinking about giving up, because they were looking at the big problem and not dividing it up into little goals so we called them and said that we were going to leave four chocolate bars where we were at so they would have to climb up to at least that point to get to them. When we turned around the hnas. were running up the hill :P Today my compi and I got to plan the activity so we had a competition to demostrate companionship unity. We blind folded a companionship and had them feed one another yogurt, the most rapido and cleanly as posible. Some of the elders were really got at talking to one another, helping eachother out, other elders ended up with yogurt all over their faces and clothes. It was fun! Then we played soccer and I got to surprise yet another zone with the fact that Hnas. can play soccer and play well! I made a goal and all of them freaked out like it was the second coming or something :P 

It's way cool to be a part of the mission during this time of the year and during this era because we are seeing a lot of miracles, peaople who are opening their hearts to the message of happiness that we bring, people who are looking for a little bit more of the gospel in their lives and are remembering Jesus christ. Our milagros this week had to do with less actives! We had a less active open up to us and share with us the real reason why she doesn't go to church, we have another family of menos actives that are really trying to make it to the temple to be sealed, and we had a whole family of menos activos return to the temple this week! WE also had a famlia home evening with the ward and we were inviting everyone like crazy and we had three investigators show up!! Another big miracle on the books! The mission is so cool! We have challenges of course, all the time but we try and look at the positives over the negatives.

 It's also very cool to always be learning new ways to improve and teach better, this week at a capacitación our mis pres taught us all about how to teach using the baptism interview questions during the lesson and I was like Duh! why haven't I been doing that before! and We immediately put it to the test and started seeing big results! I feel like every day I just keep learning more and more, getting better at the whole teaching thing, with more courage and direction etc. I'm finally getting the hang of it close to the end of my time! Que frustrante! Ha ha but I'm excited to keep working and see a whole lot of miracles during the remaining time I have left! Just Get 'er done!!!

Hey family and friends! 

So every week I'm more and more grateful to be in the mission and every week I'm more and more grateful to have the gospel in my life! Seriously there's no better way to realize how lost the people without the evangelio are until you actually start talking to them about the gospel of jesus christ. This week we were contacting a lot of people of other faiths and the poor things they really are trying to follow Jesus Christ and they're trying but they just don't have the guidance of the holy ghost and they aren't listening to the living prophet so their beliefs end up muddled and all over the place. And sometimes it frustrates me so much when they just wont listen to us and the plain and precious truths we are sharing! Don't they understand that we can help them better the faith that they already have!! Well that's we're trying to get better at explaining anyways. 

So this week we learned that it is way easier to just tell the truth right off the bat. We have this investigator that wants to get baptized so badly that he lied to us and told us that he was married (he's not married) so that he could get baptized. So we taught him the law of chastity, and he lied again! So we asked his wife in front of him and she says no, we are not married and fransisco kept going with it! Poor thing jsut wants to get baptized so badly! So the next time we went and visited him we were like ok, we know you're not married but instead of denying it lets see what we can do to fix it. And now he's going to start all the paperwork to get married to his girlfriend of 26 years. Sometimes I wonder what they're waiting for! just get married already!! 

It's so fun going on divisions with the hnas. and I get to work with a lot of great misionaries and we always see miracles! This week I was with my old companion Hna. Darley and we went to see Camila a young mom we've been visiting a bunch lately and she started to cry in the lesson and told us that she and her husband had been having problems before but now things have smoothed over and she said that she knows that it's because we've been visiting her! It was a really cool moment. Then we were walking and we passed a guy that was smoking a homerolled cigarrette on a wall, then we passed him again and I felt the spirit so strong telling me to talk to him so I stopped and asked him what he was doing. He's like what does it look like I'm doing, I'm smoking. So I asked him why he was smoking if that will kill his body. Then he told us that he wanted to be able to quit smoking and he has a lot of faith in God but never really went to church so he started going to a bunch of churches looking for the Lord's help to quit his addiction and when he saw us pass he wanted to call out to us because he recognized us as messengers of god. He said he wanted to start from zero, and have a brand new start. I asked if he would like to know how to do it, then explained baptism to him and he responded: "what do I have to do to be able to be baptized, tell me and I'll do it" !!!!!! I don't know if I've ever felt the spirit so strong in my mission!! Imagine, we walk by so many people that may be smoking, drinking, or have tattoos or piercings but we never know what the spirit could make out of them if they have the chance to accept it. We don't know what's going on politically or the current events in the world right now but we get that a lot of unfortunate things have been happening lately but I like a quote that a church leader said: "every problem, every calamity in the world could be resolved with the gospel of jesus christ if it was given the opportunity" I know that's true, I've seen it change lives here in the mission and I know that the gospel is the best thing I have in my life and I'm so glad to have it. It motivates me when the going gets tough and there's a lot of opposition. But we know what team will win! Even if tthe game gets knarly we know whose is the winning side! We just have to keep fighting for our team! I love you all so much, I love this gospel so much! Thankks for the examples you all are to me!

HOla Familia!
So I didn't think I'd feel it so much, when Nicia went home but the thing
is that I had developed this habit of thinking of her while walking in the
caille, teaching a lesson, or during meetings, wondering if she was doing
the same thing at the same time! When Christmas comes my priority number
one is talk to Nicia in Spanish I hope you all know! So now that I'm the
only Boully in the mission right now I've gotta pick up the pace! My compi
and I hit the ground running this change because si or si we want to have a
baptism together! This week has been another week of miracles! We have this
one Hermano named Fransisco who really wants to get baptized and we've been
teaching him a lot with the help of really awesome members and he's
progressing a lot! We also have some really cute young girls who are
inactive that want to come back and came to church! Another miracle this
week is that we found this really amazing hermano that's this humble
gardener that wants to make more time for God in his life so we passed for
his house and he was outside working but when he saw us he threw down his
tools and told us to follow him because he was going to buy us a coke
because it was hot outside. We were a bit thrown but thought ok and so we
went to a Tienda and sat down outside next to a bunch of slot machines with
this two liter coke, glasses, and some stools to sit on, we taught him
about the restoration and ended up putting a fecha with him!! He was so
happy and wanted to serve us so much that he basically made us drink the
whole bottle of coke and then later when we said goodbye to him we had to
run to a member's house to use their bathroom! It was so funny ! WE've been
praying so hard to find prepared people and we've had a lot of success too!
It seems that almost every house we knock on we find someone really
prepared to hear the gospel IT'S GREAT! We have the ocasional bummer person
that walks out, sees us and then runs back inside but we just laugh it off
and say NEXT! The mision work is not easy but if you have the spirit with
you we see miracles, for example in a lesson they gave us a big glass of
pepsi and there was nowhere to put it down and i didn't want to put it on
the floor because there was a little girl playing so i was worried she
would spill it, so I ended up just downing the drink to be able to start
the lesson but then during the lesson I had a lot of burps that wanted to
come out!! My companion was laughing at me and I was worried I'd ruined the
lesson but then at the end the investigator said she had felt a feeling
inside, that was really good and different from what she had ever felt
before! Just goes to show that the spirit helps us out when we imperfect
missionaries are struggling a bit!! I forgot to mention that my mision
pres. went home to Utah for two weeks for a surgery, he's alright and is
coming back this week but now I can say I had a mis pres. for two weeks!
His name is Pres. Wilhelm and he is super Bakan! He's chileno and he
surprised us by showing up at our zone meeting and he walked up to me and
asked if I was the coordinadora and when I said yes he had a lot of
questions about my investigators and how I was making my sector an example
for the hnas. I'm just glad we've worked really hard so that I had
something to say! He gave us all some really amazing advice, chastised a
bit but with a lot of love! He reminded me of Dad, telling us he knows we
can do better than what we are doing. His wife was super cute too! but I'm
happy to have the Warnes back.
This week I had a bit of a down moment, wondering if I'm doing enough and
kind of disappionted that I haven't had more success but we should always
pray and read the scriptures in those moments because when I did and opened
my scriptures they opened right up to a scripture that felt like it was
written for me! Alma 17 : 10-12 It's worth a read when you're down in the
dumps!
I'm so happy to still ahve time to work my butt off in this awesome cause!

Hola familia y amigos!!

Wow this week has flown by, wow time in general is flowing by!! I would say that I'm getting used to my new companion but really we just clicked our first day together  so it hasn't been difficult to adjust! Her name is Hna. Cortez and she's from Guatemala! It seems that just as Hna. Boullly is leaving Guate, the Lord sent me a companion from Guatemala to help me to think of my dear sister :) She's so amazing and so kind and such a dedicated missionary I'm so happy to be with her! We hit the ground running this week and we're sure that this is going to be a transfer of miracles because in just one week we found several amazing people, put fechas with them, motivated them to come to church, found a family of menos activos, helped another family prepare to go to the temple and helped a recent convert resolve some serious doubts he was having! I have never arrived at the house so tired every day before, just shows we're working hard! And there's always a little bit more that we can do every day and we're trying to look for ways to even better our work!! I feel so good when we're working so hard! I'm dead tired every night but it's worth it!! it's funny because I'm now living with Hna. Darley again who was my companion so we also have a lot of fun when we're not working so hard! This week and the crazy unbelievable fact that Hna. Number 1 it going home makes me want to work even harder than ever!! Time is precious and we have to use it well! Especially when it comes to the gospel! We may say that we don't have time to read the scriptures or we might feel too tired to say a good prayer at night but it seriously makes the difference in how each day goes and how we form our lives. I've been reading Doctrine and Covenants a lot and it talks a lot about the last dispensation and how these are the last days.  It makes me want to work even harder to make sure that I'm fighting for the winning side. Speaking of which there's an amazing talk that everyone should read called fighting the battle of the faith by bruce r. mcconkie. It changed my life°!!!

Hna Mandy

Hola familia y amigos!!

So this week we had cambios again, so crazy to think that another six weeks has already flown by! Hna. Giurleo was my first companion for more than one change so I thought we would get lucky and be able to stay together for one change more but... no such luck. I'm staying here in Buin and my new companion is Hna. Cortéz and they tell me she's from Guatemala!! So I'll feel really close to Nicia being with her and I'll be able to learn more about that crazy country! What's really crazy is that my compi is going to La Florida where I started my mission!! Small world. Atleast I know that there are a lot of people there who are going to take care of her like they did for me. The other funny thing is that My old companion Hna. Darley is coming here to live in my house! And my other old companion Hna. Flores is coming to this zone so I'll get to do divisions with her and work together again!! That just goes to show how many companions I've had when all of the sisters coming to this zone are old companions of mine :P So this week we had to enter the house early again because there was a big soccer game. (I wonder if other Latin American countries have to enter early because of soccer or just Chile where everyone goes a bit crazy) We had to go back to the house at 5 so we worked really hard for an hour and a half trying really hard to find someone that was going to let us in and accept our message and the cool thing is that we got talking to a couple that before didn't want anything to do with us or our message but this time they actually listened a little bit and we were able to talk about the gospel on their doorstep, they didn't let us in but at least now they say we can come back and talk to them! Big change from the first encounter! We also got to have a family home evening with a family of members and a recent convert that we have and it made me realize again why it's so important to have the participacion of the members because this family was able to talk to our recent convert and he opened up and he said that he's been having a hard time and he's starting to doubt his decision when he got baptized, if we hadn't gone with these members we wouldn't have known that! Now we can help him! We also had a meeting with our Mission Pres. called Consejo and he started talking to us about faith and he asked us what the difference is between Ammon and Alma and other great missionaries in the BOM that baptized hundreds and us. He asked why we don't have faith in the fact that we really can baptize and change the lives of a lot of people when in the scriptures it says that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that this is the truth! Sometimes what the lord asks of us can seem really difficult and we may think it's not possible but then we have to remember that the lord has asked it of us and so if we really give it our all he's giong to provide the way that we can accomplish it! Then the Hna. Warne stood up and reminded us that Ammon didn't baptize all of the Lamanites but he did baptize all of the Lamanites in his sector so that's our job too, do everything we can to baptize everyone in our sector. It was a really good meeting and we all left really excited to convert the world and Hna. Giurleo and I found a new investigator who let us in and almost accepted a fecha bautismal! She said no because she's scared to leave her Catholic traditions behind but we know that if we can help her feel the spirit she'll accept it al final! It's hard sometimes when the people dont accept us and when we have to change companions and other changes that we have in life and in the mission but every change is for a reason and every change brings us more knowledge and experience and helps us to grow and be better peole and better disciples of Christ so we all just have to roll with it! And instead of ask "Por Que?" we have to ask " Para Que" and look for the reason behind every trial and change! And before you know it the time will have flown by just like these 15 months have flown by!! I can't believe it! (I can't imagine how Nicia must feel :P) I love you all, hope you hve a good week!

I know I keep saying this but really the time is going by so fast this week was sooo quick we had so many great things happening here that when sunday came around it was a moment of really? 

But It was a great week starting the week I got to do divisions with one sister from canida In her area it is the pure captial we got to eat in the house of the bishop and it was super nice I felt so funny entering these nice houses it so different working with people that have money. Its funny where this area is the sisters talk more engish then spanish it was kinda hard to contact in english for me! But it was fun to be a chang and talk lots of english with this amazing sister. 

The next day we got to have interviews with Pres!!!! Scary right. but it was good mosty he was preparing me for my final interview that is the really scary part. But really Pres Caffaro and Hna Caffaro are super amazing with lots of love.

Its so true in the mission things most the time dont go how you planned but things work out in the end. We have been working with this young girl that is the same age has meg!! She is amazing she went to church last week and is already starting her Personal Progress we where amazed cuz it was the second time we are teaching her and she is amazing we found out that she her boyfriend is a member and he just recieved his call this last sunday so we will see where he goes and how it will efect her! But its amazing the mission Its hard when there are those people that you are teaching and they choose they dont want to listen. But we always hope that one day that they will change. We where talking to one family they said the first time they recieved the missionaries they recjected them then also the second and third but they finaly decided to listen but even after that it was a proces but now they are super active members! Dont give up on the people even if they say no we never know it could be the starter to help them!

Hola familia como estan??

So this week I've been thinking a lot about service and not because we had a lot of planned service activities, actually we didn't have any, but I was thinking about the opportunities that we are given to serve every single day without necessarily putting on the Mormon Helping Hands vest. This week was a roller coaster week like always, with a whole lot of ups and downs and we saw a lot of miracles but it seems that with every miracle we usually recieve a couple of really crappy moments too. At the beginning of the week we had several investigators progressing towards baptism but during the week they all came up with desafios of why they couldn't get baptized and so that was really hard news to hear but we kept going anyways and were able to teach an amazing lesson with a convert we have and his sister accepted a fecha bautismal! My companion helped me to realize that we are in this mission for a reason and sometimes that reason is to help us learn and grow not just the people we're teaching, it seems that I'm supposed to learn a lot of patience and perseverance. But those are good lessons to learn now! 

So I've been thinking about service because it kind of hit me this week why they tell you that if you are struggling to love someone you should serve them more because service really does have a lot to do with love! It's something I've heard my whole life but it really sank in this week when my companion's back was hurting her and even though there are a million things I would like to do when we get home at night that there's never time for like write in my diary, straighten up my things, rest for a minute or eat (which always seems to be the most important) but when my companion needs something like a massage to make her back feel better or there's something I can do for her I always prefer to do that over anything else and not for the right to call attention to myself and what a good person I am for doing service, no. I do it because I love her so much that I really want to do all I can for her. This week I also got to help the Hnas. in my house that were going through a rough time and de verdad listening to them, helping them in the ways I can helped me to forget my little problems and go to work just like Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley said. Shouldn't service always be like that? where we do what we can for others because we honestly want what's best for them?? Just a thought.

Another crazy thought I had: they say the sunsets in Chile are the prettiest in the world and I can definitely attest to that and this week I realized that almost every time we were having a down moment when we stopped and looked up there's always a gorgeous sunset waiting for us. Then me and my big brain realized that the prettiest sunsets are always the ones with a bunch of clouds in the sky a.k.a. the sunsets that come right after a storm is clearing up. For me it's like a little reminder from Heavenly Father that he's looking out for me. Anyhoo, I hope everyone's great! That we can look for the miracles and the pretty sunsets even amidst the gloomy storm clouds and that we all serve one another!! I love you all have a good week!!

Hna Nicia

HOLA!!

Its a beatiful rainy day but its Pday which is great! Its been kinda crazy the last three days its been raining none stop yesterday it was super cold I have been converted being in the hot outside the captial and also puro Chapin cuz here when it rains no one goes out in the rain cuz for the little kiddys not to get sick saddly not many people came to church for this. The members where laughing at me saying arent you from Utah where it snows and its colder mmmmm yep!! Im going to freeze to death when I come home!! But Im really thinking that we are going to see Noeh and his ark soon if the rain doesnt let up!

I gotta say Fasting is somtime kinda hard but you really do see the blessings!! This week we where able to see lots of milagros!! We started this week talking and talking with all the people we could find with this we are getting to find more people but we return every night super tired how great is the mish!! We where looking through our Area Book and we found a note that the hnas before had wrote about a Family that the dad is member but the kids are not we wrote down the direction and went out looking this day we started working in the morning and everything fell we didnt have one lesson until we found this family and with the help of the lord found the direction and we found this girl of 16 years and she is super piles she accepted a fecha in the first lesson the best part is that she came to church!! Sunday we had a list of all the people we hoped would come to church and cuz of the rain or other things couldnt come but this hna came I know it was our milagro!! 

We where also able to give service this last week a missionary couple came with things to put together for those that where afected by the landslide there we where in a line bagging tooth past, combs, wash cloths, tooth brush, has fast has week could lots of fun but kinda crazy!

I am so greatful for the help of those mebers here in the ward they have been helping us so much they are so super about the missionary work always looking who we can teach and trying to help us teach they are amazing!

I know you gotta look at the goods in life that somtimes there is the bad that happen with everything but we gotta look at the postive and dont let the adversairy win!! Sometimes when we feel like its just raining we gotta keep our heads up and look for the rainbows and the sun! Thats what Im hopping for here!! I love the mission I love the people here and

Hey friends and family! 

So this week our zone leaders decided to encourage everyone to have a Power Week and work like we've never worked in our missions and that's just what we did but Satan just loves to mess with a good thing so this week we've also had some of the biggest trials ever. Monday instead of going to a family home evening that the ward members have every week we decided to stay in the street working even if it meant contacting all night. Usually it's really difficult to contact at night because we're worried about waking people up but we came up with the idea to contact every house that had it's lights on and it really worked! We found some awesome future investigators. Tuesday we were busting our butts all morning teaching lessons and in the afternoon and we were super excited for a noche de hogar that we were going to have with the most amazing family of investigators that we have. We were going to watch the restoration with them but when we got there they told us that they were not likely to come to church ever let alone get baptized and that they were happy to receive our visits but wanted us to know that they don't have any desires to change. We were soooo devastated!! We bore our testimonies to them and shared that we were there for them and not for us and all the blessings we know could bless their family etc. They still want us to come and visit them and talk about the gospel and realize that they can't judge yet because they haven't been to church so there's still hope that they will accept it. They asked if we could say a prayer with them (even more hope that maybe they'll feel the spirit and just accept it) and then we went out in the street and just cried. My cute companion was the first to say that it's just not their time right now and we have to respect the lord's timing and I agree with her but I don't think there's anything more painful than coming to love a family, seeing them accept the first principles of the gospel that you share with them, but then having them reject it before it really takes affect. Sometimes the mission is soo hard but not because you walk a lot, not because you have to leave your comfort zone, not because we're far from our families but because the mission teaches you how to see and love the people like Christ would and when they choose not to accept it..... it's just really hard. 

But we keep going right! We kept working really hard and on Wednesday I got to go on divisions with an adorable little gringa that just got to the mission three weeks ago. We spent the whole afternoon contacting in the rain but we were happy doing it because we had the fire of the spirit in our hearts to keep us warm. The best news of the week is that we've been working with this adorable abuelita that wants to get baptized and she has a fecha for Meg's birthday the 31st but she needed to come to church this week or she wouldn't be able to go. When we visited her she said she wouldn't be able to go because her back hurts but we were stubborn Avon Lady missionaries and we went and picked her up in the car with a member so she was able to come and she loved the sacrament meeting because we had a primary program!! We also have a cute little nine year old girl we're teaching who isn't baptized yet becuse she's scared of the water. Her fecha is also Meg's birthday so thanks Meg for your good luck and I'll send you the pictures on your bday!!

Life is full of trials but every trial helps us to get closer to Heavenly Father and grow, so I feel a whole lot closer to him right now!

Another beautiful day of monday! Its lots of fun in the mission you see the very spiritual times and the really funny times this week. Start out with the funny parts soo the hna that gives us breakfast couldnt come for three days and the truth was we didnt have anything in our house we have a stove but we dont have a pan ooops but we do have a micorwave yay!! but its not the same has haveing food from this hna and doesnt help that this week we have been running in the mornings which is great but you are really hungry. We aslo bought marshmellows and cookies to do smores with one family but they couldnt so my comp made like a cake out of cookies and marshmellows and put it in the microwave but this time didnt blow up the microwave. When sunday night came around we didnt have anything in the house to eat and we where hungry we had bought a little elefant marshmellow thing for a hna but my comp was super hungry and the hna was out of town sooo she ate it and i went to our little orange tree and ate a sour orange but it was good but super funny!

Its really great working with the members to teach we found two hnas that have been living with one hna cuz their house was damaged in the land side and they have been listening to us and they even came to church! Its great that they can see the example of this family how they are great members and with their testimonies they want to learn more. We also have been working with a nothe Hna of a member that was just baptised this last year when we started the lesson she started by saying that she had been talking to her family that she didnt want to be in two different churches cuz she had been going to a different church we talked to her that she needed to learn and then go and ask God what was right then this Hna and her husband told how they had said the same thing when the meet with the missionaires but after they started to listen and they told of all the blessings they had recieved from being members! It was amazing how we turned the lesson and she agreed to keep listening and learning I know it was from the testiomonies of this members. The funny part is we had finished part of the lesson cuz we have to teach parts for parts not the whole thing in the first lessions but then these members started talking about who was the prophet right now and bishops temples we the missionaries where like paulse no more info cuz this hna started getting confused but this is why we learn things line a upon line. I know this members just want the best for their family thats why they are so excited to share with others but sometimes we got to remember that some of these things we take has normal is totaly different for them and it needs to be done little by little first Milk then Meat.

Im so happy to be here serving I know there is still lots I need to learn like to have more faith but by little means we can do great things!

Hola familia!

So this week we've seen evidence that the Lord really does wok in mysterious ways. About five weeks ago we were visiting a less active and this friend of hers happened to be there so we taught him and then we taught him again the next day and he was really cool so we asked his address but he didn't know exactly what it was and so we never found him again. Then this week my companion and I have been praying and working really hard to have a baptism and yesterday he comes walking in to the sacrament meeting!! He had the LdM we had given him and when we talked to him afterwards he said he would like to start assisting our church from now on, he stayed for the full three hours and even participated in the classes!! He gave us his address this time too! We were on cloud nine thinking that he was going to be our baptism but after church we ran to go check where he lives and discovered that he lives right on the line that divides our sector from the sector of the elders and al final he belongs to the elders. aaaaahhh!! We were so frustrated! We were happy for the elders but at the same time we were thinking "We found him! We want to keep teaching him!" So when we passed the reference to the elders they laughed a bit saying that they felt bad to have stolen our reference but were happy at the same time to have such a great investigator now. We were a bit bummed but then we thought that the lord's hand is in everything and al mejor he needed the elders to teach him in oder to be converted. 

The good news is that we discovered a new part of our sector that we didn't know existed and it's full of awesome people that have all opened their doors to us thus far. It's kind of funny, awhile back I sent a picture of me at the limit of the mission, well turns out that there's a road that leads back behind all of the vineyards that has a bunch of houses that we've been contacting this week and we found a lot more peoople to teach! 

The other good news is that we were able to do a lot of service this week. We were passing a street and someone saw our name tags and told us to go to a house because there had been a fire and they had lost everything. We went, presented ourselves and what we do and ended up helping them scrape paint off of one of the surviving walls. So while by companion worked the blow torch I followed behind scraping off the paint all the while singing hymns while we worked for about two hours and talking to the people that live there. I love service!

So two things about Chile, they're such fanatics of soccer that whenever there's a game we have to enter early, and at this time of year there are about a trillion monarch butterflies everywhere! With all the green that's around, the mountains and the vineyards I'm convinced this is the prettiest place in the world :) And this work I'm doing is also the best thing I've ever done :) Love you all have a good one!

Hola!

Its been a little of a crazy week here but I want to start out by saying that I know that Heavenly Father watches out for us missionaries. This last week there was a land slide in a part of our area it has been really sad lots of people lost their lives includding one of our converts and also those did make it lost almost everything. But it has been amazing to see all the help that has been giving and that is still being giving. The morning after this happened the church and the members and put together a house for a big family of members that was living in this part it was amazing to see how fast that was put together the mission president helped out with beds members of other wards brought food and cloths and amazing how many people want to help. Its been a little crazy in our area cuz its not a big area and there in only one road with two lanes to come in and out and there are so many people here to help and serve. I know that heavenly father watching out for us cuz there where days when we where working in this area when it was raining and raining but we where looked out for. I also know that God has a plan for everything he knows why these things happened for expample our convert who only hat 18 years that he was needed on the other side. Also it has been great to help others with our messages and leccions to teach that this live isnt the end that we will see these people again. 

I loved Conference it was a great Feast of great words and it was also fun to see who is the newbees!! I loved what one new Apostal talked about when he was called That we are called for what he needs to do through us, not what we have done and we need to do it his way not ours and only this way we can to serve his children. 

Its amazing when you find people who are truly converted there are some great ejemplos in this ward of faithful members there is one sister that we offered to help her come with us to conference sunday she has a little girl that has 3 months and a other little boy that has 4 years and is a firerball he has sooo much energy we helped her try to keep him quiet though conference which was no easy thing after the first session he was playing in the grass and a ant bit him in the eye after it swolle up big but not even this stopped him but it was really funnying seeing him with his swollen eye. But this sweet mom is amazing she loves the gosepel and is truely commited! Other great example there is a family that was baptised a mom dad and three kids goodness these kids are soo well behaved it was crazy and this sister gave us a ref of her sister and when we went to visit the Hna memeber and her husband were so excited to share thier testimonys and to share how many blessings they recieved in the church it was amazing I felt the spirt so strong that in makes the difference when you truing believe what you have taught you want to share it with others. 

Im so grateful for their example for the words of those Apostles and Profetas for the time I have to serve I hope to make the most of it!!

sooo this week was the last of the mez to and we really didnt have anything only coins of 5 cens so there we where one night we were cold and hungry so we counted our coins and got hot chocolate!! it was lots of fun!

HOla familia como estan?? 

I hope everyone loved the conference talks as much as I did!! I got to listen to conference in Spanish again and even though I miss the voices of the apostles it's cool to be able to understand everything now and feel the spirit so strong even though it isn't my native language. It was cool though because Elder Cristofferson recorded his own talk before in spanish and he speaks really really good! I thought it was a translater no mas because he doesn't have a gringo accent or anything. That talk really hit home for me because sometimes we hear all to often from the people that we are trying to teach that they feel that they are just fine believing in God and being a good person and they feel that if they do that they'll be all set for their judgement day. I know the church is true and I believe that it really is essential for our happiness here on the earth but sometimes it is hard to explain it to the people we meet on the street in simple terms. For that I loved what he said when We are made to progress and we cannot do that on our own and without the help and teachings of the gospel. I feel like he wrote that talk especially for my mission here in Chile because we also hear a lot the "all roads lead to heaven" excuse and there're a lot of people that believe you can be in whatever religion and be ok but I was thinking about it this week, about what sets us apart as the true church of God and I had to think of temples. Really without temples, and the ability to bind what we have on earth in heaven as well we would all be lost and a whole lot more desperate. Really if I ever have any doubts about the church and it's truthfulness there are a lot of things I can turn to like the BoM and prayer to help me but also thinking of the saving ordinances of the temples fills me with more desire to share the gospel with everyone so that they have a chance to do those ordinances before their time comes. I also loveed the talk by elder holland talking about mothers and comparing the love they have for us with the atonement, I'd never thought of that before. It made me really really grateful for moms. It was cool timing because there is a woman we've been visiting who just adopted an adorable 3 year old girl and gets the chance to be her mom. She's so cute! When we met her she immediately reached her arms out for us to take her and I so badly wanted to pick her up and give her a squeeze!! I could talk about all of the talks in detail but lets just say I loved all of them, and I loved that the general theme was: if you follow the Lord's path, keep the commandments, do what your asked, and be where you're supposed to be when you're supposed to be there you'll have peace, love happiness, and comfort in abundance. If not, not so much. I was really impressed by the strength of Pres. Monson too, I don't think I'll ever forget the look of determination in his eyes while he was finishing his talk. I felt the spirit so strong. 

Oh! I also loved the talk about meditizando, meditating and memorizing a scripture every week, I think it's a good alternative if you can't spend hours studying the scriptures every week. This week I'm working on DyC 18: 2-4 because it helped me recieve a stronger testimony of the book of mormon!

In other news we were able to put a baptism date with a little old grandma this week, it was the first time we had taught her but she has a lot of family that are members so she already knows a lot. We shared a scripture in 2 nefi 31 and she automatically said that she wants to get baptized. We just hope that her health will be good because when she's sick she doesn't come to church, but we have faith and hope!! We're working with a couple other cute familias and we keep working hard, looking for more people to teach. The unfortunate thing is that a lot of times we knock on a door and contact people that are already members but inactive :P Lots of work to do! Anyhoo I hope you all are good, and that we all apply what we learned in conference now!

HOLA y UN BUENAS DÍAS, 

So the good part is yesterday they told us that we dont have changes which Im very happy about I love my area the members are so amazing and my comp she is amazing to super sweet and we are going to echar fuego en nuetra area! 

This week its just been a rainny rainy week amost every day its been raining sounds like its the same in Utah! Rain is great but somtimes its interesting has a missionary the funny part here when it rains no one wants to go out side for nothing and sometimes they dont want to recieve us missionaries ether but there are the good parts to there are the blessings in the rain for example this last week we found a great family a Hno and Hna and thier little baby they seem super great and are really excepting we hope to help them progress to be married and then baptised!"! They hard part is they have a cute baby but he has been sick and hasnt been able to go outside cuz of the rain so this family wasnt able to come to church but we hope to help them come this next week. This week we have been working a lot with the members and Recent members they have been super helpful. In this ward there is alot of new member families its really cool to see the class after Sacrament meeting where all the new bees are and see all the couples sitting together. We got to teach one of this families that are recieving leccions to go to the temple to be sealed but we taught them about the Resteracion again and made them teach us to change roles to help others share with their familes and friends it  was a great leccion and fun to see the whole family get involved. We are also teaching alot of English which has been fun cuz the members give us ref!!

Cool thing about Gaute that I love is they give alot of Atols its like hot drinks of rice with chocolate milk also de Platanos or of oatemil I love all of them but sometime its funny when we are going leccion a leccion and when its raining the members or our invest give us Atoles but we get so full one night we drank like 4 cups and each with a roll or somthing with it we where so full but its great the love here in this area!

Everyday there is the Miricals Somtimes things dont go how I want or my comp but we see the good things like seeing a Hna That is a new member giving her talk in sacrament meeting for the first time or finding two new invest this week that accepted us to teach them! I know that we need to keep working and we will see the fruits but we just got to keep working. I think of the womens conference where Elder Uckdorf talks about this hna and the picture of the Pioneer girl that we need to look for the colors and the good stuff to stay happy.

I was sad to hear about Elder Richard G Scott but how great it is to think about that he is with his wife I loved the talk he gave once where he talks alot about his wife. How great the conference will be lets see who is going to be the new Apostoles!!

Hola familia y amigos,

So I am already really enjoying this whole, have a companion more than just one transfer thing! For once we were able to keep working through the changes without the unevitable hiccups of having to adjust to a new companion or new sector. There was no hectic packing at ten thirty at night, no awkward first week trying to get to know your companion and teaching them about the sector or trying to get to know your new setor etc. It's so great! And this week has been stressful but so incredible! We have been teaching this adorable girl named Yaritza who was not coming to church and this week we were able to see her go to the temple and take out her endowments! She talked about her experience going to the temple for the first time and it really made me miss the temple and made me so happy for her. We also had the opportunity to teach our family of investigators that are so amazing and prepared and it was cool to see that they had questions about why there are so many churches and that there should only be one for everyone and we were so happy to be able to tell them that we have the answers! My companion and I have grown so close it's incredible I seriously feel like she is my sister! We say that we were best friends in heaven and we begged Heavenly Father to let us be sisters here on the earth and he must have told us that he has other plans for us but he would make sure and provide the way we could meet here on earth! I love her so much!

I can't believe how fast the time flies! I'm just trying to do the best I can and take advantage of every day!

HOLA!!!

Its another pretty Pday!! How fast goes the week when your having fun in the mission!!

Soo the High Light of this week was that we got to see the baptism of one Hno Douglas. So when we came into this area we got to know Hno and his family the first day we found out after that when the other sisters left this family was feeling that maybe they didnt want to recive more Hnas cuz they didnt like saying good bye. But thank fulling they like us and let us into their house.

This family has been a work in progress but in a good way the first missionaries they recieved where elders and they where marrige with these elders in 2 years ago then the Hna Alejandra was baptised and just now Hno Douglas. I know that this was from the work of lots of missionaries not just us. They are a family amazing they both have strong testiomonies and they both have changed so much for the better. The baptism went great the Hno was super nervus cuz he had planned that the bishop was going to baptise him but after he was worried cuz the bishop is kinda short and the hno is super tall but thankfuling everything went great we got to hear the testimony of the Hna Alejandra and it was so amazing we felt the spirit so strong. 

Some funny High lights of this week we where teaching this one invest she has 3 dogs and 2 boys in this littly house noramaly when we enter the dogs are super yappy but after a minute they are a little more tranquilo so we started the lession with a hym but in this time one of these dogs decided that he liked me lots he wanted to jump all over me and give me kisses right in the middle of Im a Child of God but we where able to endur with the hna and her belt with the dog in hands and we where able to have a great lesson!

Yesterday we also got to vist this one member and found that she had a pet parriot green and very pretty it was fun wistling to him and having him answer made me think of the birds we used to have but the funny part was this bird like to laugh at me just me my comp he loved my when i tried to pet him he tryed to peck me and then started laughing! 

It has been a good week we hope to work harder to help more come to chirst Im so grateful to be here in this area to get to know so many great people and to have some great experinces!!

Hola fam. y friends!

So as some of you may have heard Chile felt a little earthquake this week. Well here in Chile earthquakes are so common that they have two different names to describe earthquakes so that every one knows just what kind of earthquake we're talking about here. Temblor: is a little earthquake that one feels like a vibration no mas but passes in like ten seconds. Terramoto: The kinds of earthquakes that make the ground underneath you pitch and jump and topples buildings and causes tsunamis and all that fun stuff. This week we had the latter, a Terramoto. The good thing is that the strength and damage of terramotos depends on how close you are to the center of the thing and luckily we were far enough away that we're all ok. Actually my companion and I were in a lesson and when we got out the weather was all weird, it was dry, started raining for like two seconds and then stopped, and we had to hurry to the church to teach piano lessons and so we took a colectivo. While we were driving all of a sudden we felt kind of dizzy and we just thought that the driver was driving really crazy no mas, then we saw the light cables start sparking and all the stop lights turned off and the guy driving said lightning had struck but I was like no I don't think so, and I saw the trees waving back and forth but I thought it was just the wind, (all the while I'm trying to contact and share a bit of the gospel with the guy driving so I was not paying the most attention) and then al final the car started going up and down and I remember thinking "I don't remember there being speed bumps there" We made it to the church and everyone freaked out asking us if we had felt the terramoto and we even ran into our Pres. de Mission and he was pretty calm but definitely had a busy look about him and was out of there pretty quick to go start the phone chain to make sure all of us missioneros were fine. I am definitely counting my blessings here that we were not closer to where the terramoto hit, the people up north had their houses fall and were hit with a tsunami, the only inconvenience we're suffering is we feel temblores several times a day and night. Today while we were eating the table started moving a bunch and we watched thick wood beams start to tremble and almost dived under the table but then it faded. 

On a lighter note we celebrated the independence day here in Chile, Chilean style with a lot of food, mostly meat. I was trying to remember how it is in the states and I realized that during our BBQs we usually play games our hang out in the yard while the meat cooks. Here they don't have a lot of yard space so to pass the time they eat. They make empanadas big enough to fill me up as an appetizer, then they through sishkabobs on the grill first and we eat those next, then we eat chutipan (a hot dog with sausage instead of hotdog) and then and only then after I've eaten enough to fill me up for a week, does the meal start. There was also a lot of cueca dancing and we dressed up as Huasos again with the cool dresses.

The best news of all is that we had cambios this saturday again and for the first time in over a year I get to have a companion for more than one change!! The both of us are going to stay here in Buin and work super hard!!! I'M SOO EXCITED!!! AAAAAHHH Hna. Giurleo's awesome and I'm so happy to work with her still.
