Hola familia!!!

Nicia is right Hermanas are better than elderes!! Lo siento pero es la verdad! We're writing early today because we're going to go out to country, even more so from where we are now to the farm of a member and see some horses and what not. It's kind of funny the story of the couple who owns the house we're going to. She's a member and he's an investigator as of three years. He wants to get baptized and the only thing that's keeping him from doing so is that they need to get married but she doesn't want to marry him. Not because she doesn't love him but because she has been widowed two times before and now is afraid to get married again because she thinks she has bad luck with husbands. It's sad but he teases all the time that he's a Dry Mormon, who hasn't had the great bath yet and whenever we happen to talk about the Santa Cena he'll joke that it's her fault that he can't participate. She jokes too saying that the day the missionaries actually keep their promise and come back to Chile to visit her, she'll get married. I'm excited and promise to send some pictures! We had a bit of a crazy week this week. First off we were teaching a young recent convert and her mom came out to talk to us and just then some horses went walking by and the first thing she said was how delicious horse meat is. Guakala!!!! (EEEWWW ) que gross. Tambien a member said sometimes people will sell, or serve meat and say it's rabbit but it's actually cat. The good news is we are hardly ever served meat, usually we only eat chicken but when it is meat I like to ask some careful questions to see what it is before taking a bite. The good thing about seeing so many people in such humble circumstances is knowing that we can help them, the hard part is seeing the difficult circumstances before hand. We were teaching an investigator and her husband came home drunk luckily he didn't do more than say hello to us, say a few things that didn't make sense and crash on the couch but people here kiss on the cheek to say hello and he didn't understand when we said we don't kiss men during the mission so quote of the week is that I got kissed by a drunk guy :P Adventures of the mission. In other adventurous news here in Rengo there is a community of gypsies, yes gypsies with the canopy tents and distinct form of dressing and palm reading and alll that. And my companion is very bold and headstrong so we went and taught a couple lessons in the midst of all that but later she told me that technically Pres. Warne doesn't want us to teach in this community because there is a lot of stuff that goes on that could be dangerous to us. I gained more of a testimony of the fact that the lord protects us though because we were looking for a house and started to enter a neighborhood that we haven't gone into before and we both felt the spirit so strong, it was like a wall in front of us keeping us from going any farther into the neighborhood so we turned around and searched a different house and later heard from members that that neighborhood is super dangerous and we should never go in. Lesson: Listen to the Spirit!! Craziest thing of all that happened this week is that I completed six months in the mission. NOOO!! I don't want to believe it because the time is passing way to fast and it feels like if I blink another six months is going to fly by. It was really cool though because we had a really cool, spiritual lesson on the day I completed 6 months, the kind of lesson that reminds you why you're doing what you're doing. We felt the spirit guide us to change the topic of the lesson and it turned out to be exactly what this woman needed and she opened up to us and shared something that she said she's never shared before and has really been weighing on her and now we know how to help her. The gospel is so stinking awesome and I'm so dang blessed to be here. Love you all lots!!

Its our second week here in Progreso and Im happy to say that we now almost know where we are going! The members here are so amazing they are helping us a ton in this area and we are so grateful the President of the Rama is always encouraging the members to help us! Sometimes its really cool being Hnas in the mission because there is a rule that the elders cant enter a house unless there is a preisthood holder or male over 18 Here in Guatemala there are always moms at home with their kids and its a little easier for us to enteer the houses and its easier for visiting the members. The rama where worried about us not having food they made a calender for us we know eat at a different members house ever night its really cool to get to know the different members but its also a little hard cuz we arent used to always having alot of food for dinner we are always just having a little and the hard part is my my comp is super skinny but its not that she doesnt eat its her genetics so the members want to give us more food incluyding me the other night we had a member who gave us a regualar dinner with a atol its hot drink made of corn or mais and more beard or muffins we where sooo full but she was like come or eat! 

We are grateful for the help of the members and there refences we found a little family that lives next to family that is members they presented us to them and the next visit we were able to put a fecha with her we where both really suprised but we think she was waiting for us to invite her to be baptised it was really cool we where very happy. We are also working with a hno that lives close to us we contacted him and he accepted a visit but we wherent able to visit him because we had consejo de districto. The next day he found us in the street and asked us why we didnt come it was cool that he was really interested in our message we did have a lesson with him and he came to church this last sunday we have faith with him after hearing the testimonies of the members about the BOM he was asking for one! yay!!! 

Gotta love pdays our day! But I think they are better outside of the capital cuz we go to different places that arent in the city! Today we woke up at 5:30 to Xuchital I Piedrona thats the name of it its a HUGE mountian and up at the top you can see all of Guatemala but it was kinda crazy it was a 2 hours and 30 min hilk and it was straight up and up in the mountains its where the clouds touch so there is alot of trees with mose, tall crazy and lots and lots of mud. It was worth it when we got to the top but it was a hard climb we where all fell acouple of times and we where all sweaty and tired, but the view was amazing it was so pretty. The elders had planned to make a fire and roost meat up at the top it was a good idea but the meat they brought took foreverto cook it was kinda funny watching a bunch of missionaries tiring to cook the meat using hand gel to keep the fire going but it was lots of fun Im so thankful for the tour guides that came with us it was truly jungle and they helped us a lot. the way down was quicker but still all of us fell a couple of times! I hope I can wake up tomorrow! Im sore now I dont know how I will be tomorrow!
