Happy New Years!
I think every missionary loves the people of there mission but goodness there are some amazing people here in Guatemala!
We celebrated the New Year with the members and here they also do tamallis and ponchi for 31 goodness I thought we ate alot for Christmas nope more for the new year! Ever member we visited they gave us food we visited members and our rc new years day and then in the night the bishop called and invited us for dinner at his house before this we were already full so we did some jumping jacks to make room for more food! The crazy part is we still have tamallis in the frige! YAY more food! After we watched the fireworks form our roof but this time we remembered our keys and our blankets! But its really amazing how everyone here is so caring and want to share with us. The other day we were walking down the street and a lady opened the door and invited us in at first we were thinking that she was a memeber but nope she said she always saw us walking down the street and today invited us in for bread and juice we found out that she and her husband are very very catholic but we still where able to share the Gift video with them because everyone is willing to talk about Jesus and his birth! They were amazing we are pretty sure they wont progess very much but we also have to have faith! and a little more faith! Im somdays amazed at the faith of these people their faith in Jesus Christ I just wish some days they would be more acepting to the gosepel but little by little! We also found a another family that was also bien Evangelical but they listened to us but said they were happy in they church! Some days its hard to acept people dont want to listen to think how we can help them change but there are other people who are ready but we gotta find them and look and look for them!
Im excited for this next week that there is no holidays that we can work all week and have more success! And also for this new year to start off a new with goals I loved what dad said about not dueling on our past on what we have done wrong to start were we are and start going! I gotta do better but good thing i got almost all this year to do better and get more spanish!!!!!!!! Soo I can talk more Spanish and that they understand me!
Its funny we meet two girls that are from Kechet its really remote part they have a different laungage that they say its like spanigh but it dosent sound the same, but they love asking us what is different in our countries is there this and this in our countries its lots of fun talking with them, but some times its funny!

Hola y Feliz Año!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This year we ended the year right, eating a lot of food, watching fireworks, singing, and spraying each other with silly string. We had to go back to the house early at like 7 because there are a lot of drunks and other dangerous things so we partied hard like missionaries and took advantage of the time to deep clean our apartment Woohoo Raise the Roof!! After wards we made comida Mexicana!! A type of food called Gorditas which literally translates to mean little Fatty and it's because that's what you are after eating them. We had to hurry and make them before the new year and all of our resolutions started. It's a tortilla, but real Mexican tortilla made from scratch, with refried beans, chicken, avacado, peppers, and queso, and they were delicious!!!!!!!!!! Then we ate icecream :) The next morning, yes we still had to wake up at seven in the morning, and yes that was a joyful experience, but we started the new year right by using our time in the morning to prestar a random act of service. We weeded a big patch of yard in front of our apartments and all sorts of people were walking and driving by and looking at us like we were crazy mainly cuz we didn't have gloves and were making due with bits of bag and what not but in the end we think they appreciated it and it looks a lot nicer. We really focused on service this week and found a couple of other opportunities to serve... mainly weeding. So this week has been in the 35 degrees celcius and I don't know what that is in Farenheit but I know it's hot and there are all these pools in our area that we have to walk by it's so hard not to run and jump into one of them. So today was pretty great when we arrived at our activity de zona and realized that they had about 2000 waterballoons, access to a hose and all of the trash bins de la classrooms to fill up and dump on other people. There was not a dry spot on any of us it was great!! (my hearing aids were safely tucked away no se preocupre) We also had the opportunity to fast this Sunday and it was the first sunday of the month so Fast ad Testimony meeting was especially great. During our fast we asked for Heavenly Father to help us find someone who has the desire to be baptized and that very day we found a woman named Yamileth who not only wants to get baptized but we were able to place a fecha with her that day! It was such an immediate answer to our prayer it was such a miracle and a blessing and a testimony builder. Then the next day I found a chapter in the Doctrine and Covenants (chapter 33) that I've never read before or at least not really that is all about courage and missionary work and standing up for the gospel and I seriously marked almost every verse. This has been an incredible week and I have a feeling it will only get better. Not saying that everything will be perfect and smooth sailing but whatever happens God is in it and I'm ready to do what I can. Love you all so much!
